So. We all now have a very clear understanding of the so-called “pension reform,” of Putin, who delivered an address, and of the public’s reaction.
Now it’s time to act. The task is simple: bring as many people as possible into the effort to resist the government’s plans.
Our modest contribution: the website pensiya.org.
What’s on it?
First, there’s a calculator that lets you work out exactly how much the state will rob you of once the law is passed. Run the numbers and share the results—figures are often more convincing than words. The more citizens “have a go at the ghouls” with this calculator, the more they will realize just how brazenly they have been robbed, and by how much.
Second, there are flyers calling on people to come to the September 9 protest, which you can—and should—print out and post in your apartment building entrance. For every city where a protest is taking place, you can download the local version in just a couple of clicks.
And third, there’s a form where you can leave your email address and, before the elections, receive information about exactly whom you should under no circumstances vote for. Surely you agree that United Russia politicians, who are pushing the pension age increase, do not deserve our votes. Let them know from now on that they will never again see any public support.
Go to the website, leave your email, distribute the flyers—and of course come to the September 9 protests against raising the pension age. In Moscow, the protest will begin at 2:00 p.m. in Pushkin Square; in St. Petersburg, at 2:00 p.m. in Lenin Square; for addresses in other cities, see the links below:

And here you’ll find city-specific invitation images for the protest. Download an image and send it to all your contacts on WhatsApp, Viber, and Telegram, as well as to every group you’re in. And ask people to forward it on. Every image sent increases the chances that the protests will be genuinely powerful and effective.
