Oh, how I hate to interrupt an extremely important post about election strategy with a new post, but I have to.

Thanks to Anton Orekh, a host at Echo of Moscow (a Russian radio station), who drew our attention to a detail we had completely forgotten about.

Right now, every crook, including Dmitry Peskov, is trying to scrub our black mutt Sergey Brilyov squeaky clean.

And they are all pushing the same line: Brilyov broke no laws.

But he did break the law. And, incidentally, that violation indirectly proves that Brilyov is lying when he says he informed the Russian authorities and VGTRK management about his British citizenship.

This lying crook is not just a propagandist with unexplained income; he is also supposedly a great statesman — he used to sit on the Public Council of the Interior Ministry and is still a member of the Public Council of the Defense Ministry.

And what does the presidential decree regulating membership in the Interior Ministry council tell us?

The Defense Ministry refers to the law on the Civic Chamber, and that law also contains a direct prohibition:

Brilyov is barred from serving there. A clear, direct, unambiguous ban. And he could not have failed to know it.

And the ministers of the Interior and Defense — people who are supposed to be informed — would never have included Brilyov on those public councils if their databases had contained information about his British citizenship.

This looks especially absurd in the case of the Interior Ministry’s public council. After all, it is the Interior Ministry that Brilyov is required to notify about foreign citizenship! (Previously this was handled by the Federal Migration Service, but it is subordinate to the Interior Ministry.)

So how did that happen?

He writes to them: you know, I have British citizenship.

And they reply: great, why don’t you come join our public council.

That is why I am right now sending the Interior and Defense Ministers the following demands: - Declare Brilyov’s inclusion on the councils unlawful. - Remove him (for the Defense Ministry). - Conduct an inquiry into how this could have happened. - Hold those responsible accountable. - Check once again whether Brilyov and his wife notified the Interior Ministry authorities of their citizenship within the legally prescribed time limit.

You and I are once again about to watch our favorite show: snakes writhing in a frying pan.

If you know anything interesting about Brilyov’s British citizenship, his property in London, and so on, write to us completely anonymously via Black Box.
