St. Petersburg Vice Governor Albin, who before changing his name was Kostroma Region Governor Slyunyaev, has been removed from office.

One bunch of crooks and thieves has devoured another in the latest round of bureaucratic infighting.

And right now I’m interested in just one thing: will Albin pick up a shovel himself, as he once advised me to do? Will he go breathe in concrete dust?

Place your bets, but I’m betting that this little thief, who has been on the state payroll since 1996, will find himself a nice spot at some state corporation in a couple of months. GlavSnabRosPromGaz or something of that sort. Or else he’ll start feeding off construction companies—the same ones he carved up lucrative building contracts with, including those surrounding Gazprom Arena.

There is not the slightest doubt that all of his “talent and hard work” will continue to be applied to taking money out of our pockets.

The ACF (Anti-Corruption Foundation) will continue to keep an eye on Albin-Slyunyaev. And we will keep fighting the current St. Petersburg authorities. You won’t find such monstrous crooks and utterly talentless blockheads in every region.

There are elections in St. Petersburg this September, and we all need to hit Beglov, Poltavchenko, Albin, and the rest of the gang hard with our Smart Voting.
