The best Doctors’ Alliance raid I’ve seen so far. You should definitely watch it too—it’s excellent.

There are no clashes with security here or anything like that, as often happens in their videos. But what a complete exposé of the state of regional healthcare.

This is Okulovka, in the Novgorod Region. Rosstat (Russia’s federal statistics agency) tells us that the average salary in the Novgorod Region is 30,698 rubles. Accordingly, a doctor’s salary at the hospital should be around 61,200 rubles, and a nurse’s around 30,600.

Nothing close to that is actually being paid. For two localities—Uglovka and Okulovka—there are just two understaffed ambulances.

Patients come to the hospital bringing their own linens and medicines.

So the hospital staff turned to the union for help.

What happens next, you really need to see for yourself. They put everyone on the spot: from the chief physician, who tried to run away, to the head of the town and the regional health minister.

And by the way, notice this: when someone says, “I’m from the Doctors’ Alliance union,” people start applauding.
