So, Ilya Yashin has published exactly the post for which he is now being held under arrest for the fifth time.

He called on voters in his district to vote for Magomet Yandiev, and if you live anywhere else, to take part in Smart Voting.

It is critically important for Sobyanin and United Russia to get a deceitful woman named Valeria Kasamara elected in Yashin’s district. She has claimed, among other things, that protesters in Moscow were throwing chunks of asphalt at the police.

For Kasamara’s sake, Yashin was first barred from running in the election. Then Kolmagorov, the Communist Party candidate backed by Yashin, was removed from the ballot. And now Ilya is being illegally kept in jail so that he cannot support another candidate and sink Kasamara’s campaign.

The plan is obvious. And so is what we need to do.

Yashin is not here — so we must become Yashin’s voice.

Magomet Yandiev is endorsed by Smart Voting.

If you live in the Basmanny, Krasnoselsky, Meshchansky, or Sokolniki districts, it is crucial not only to vote for Yandiev (obviously, you will do that anyway if you read my blog), but also to tell all your neighbors that he is the one they should vote for.

Wherever you live, think about whether you know anyone living in central Moscow, and write to them about the situation. We have four days for this kind of word of mouth to stop this injustice and meanness from prevailing. We must not hand a parliamentary seat to a United Russia candidate, earned through lies, the removal of rivals, illegal arrests, and hypocrisy.
