Ivan Konovalov turns 25 today.

He probably had some ideas about how to celebrate his birthday. But on Friday afternoon, he was stopped on a road outside Moscow, and by that same evening he was already flying to Arkhangelsk with the rank of “private.”

Quite an astonishing “military draft.”

By some absolute miracle, the head of the Doctors’ Alliance trade union, where Ivan works, managed to get through to Konovalov just before his departure.

He was guarded by 9 (nine) people.

Watch this short video. The most striking moment is when Vasilyeva says, “I hope your children end up sitting like this,” and the police officers reply, “Don’t.”

That’s the kind of state this is, and that’s the kind of law it has.

If you want to congratulate Ivan or simply send him a letter of support, you can do so at: 163060, Arkhangelsk, Dachnaya St., 62, Military Unit 21514, to Ivan Dmitrievich Konovalov.
