Unique footage from the documentary project The Term, capturing the final moments of an exhausting 13-hour search of Alexei’s apartment on June 11, 2012. Security forces raided his home on the eve of the large-scale “March of Millions,” trying to disrupt yet another protest rally and intimidate opposition leaders as part of the “Bolotnaya case” (the criminal case tied to the 2012 Bolotnaya Square protests in Moscow). Despite the grueling day, Alexei remains in good spirits, jokes about the massive investigative team, and as soon as the uninvited guests leave, sits down to change his passwords to protect his data from the security services.

Here, the police officer wants to get through.

0:10

They open the refrigerator—water.

0:15

They open the second one—water, there’s no money left.

0:29

They’re carrying out, carrying out boxes.

0:31

Boxes, some things, an enormous

0:34

number of people were brought through very quickly.

0:42

I apologize for depriving you

0:44

of the chance to watch.

0:48

Thank you very much. Thanks, guys.

0:51

Thank you so much. Sorry once again that

0:54

I didn’t give you the chance to watch

0:56

the football match and made you wait for many hours.

1:00

And the 13-hour search is over.

1:02

Apparently, some kind of crime of the

1:05

century must have taken place, because we know that in this

1:07

investigative team alone there are 160 investigators.

1:20

I’m tired, physically exhausted, really. It feels like I

1:23

didn’t do anything all day, but physically it’s very

1:26

draining.

1:47

Okay.

1:51

Okay, we need to change the passwords on

1:53

everything now, because otherwise they’ll just

1:56

mess up my email.

1:58

Okay, that’s it, thank you very much.

2:00

Uh-huh. Go ahead, criticize

2:02

the DMP again, and you’ll be punished.

2:04

I saw your post on Twitter.

2:06

Okay, password.
