On June 12, 2017, a second major wave of anti-corruption protests swept across Russia following the Anti-Corruption Foundation’s investigation into then–Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, “Don’t Call Him Dimon”. The demonstrations built on the protests of March 26, as people once again took to the streets to demand answers to allegations of high-level corruption and to show that the investigation had become more than a viral video — it had become a political event. The protests unfolded differently across the country: some rallies were officially authorized, while others faced pressure and ended in arrests. Together, they became one of the defining moments of Russia’s protest movement in 2017.
