In the fall of 2017, Alexei Navalny launched a major campaign tour across Russia as part of his presidential campaign. He traveled from city to city, held meetings with voters, presented his platform, and answered people’s questions despite repeated permit denials, detentions, and pressure on his campaign offices. This tour became an important part of the campaign: after opening regional headquarters, the team moved on to large public gatherings. At that moment, Navalny’s politics was literally unfolding in public squares — in different cities, before thousands of people, without federal television coverage or the backing of administrative resources.
