Novosibirsk became one of the first cities to open a headquarters for Alexei Navalny’s presidential campaign. For the campaign, it was an important Siberian hub: volunteers needed to be recruited there, campaign materials prepared, and the future signature drive organized. At the opening, Navalny said the goal was not to “stage a show of democratic unity,” but to build a campaign capable of fighting to win and speaking directly with people.
