On May 21, 2017, Alexei Navalny’s campaign offices opened on the same day in Yoshkar-Ola and Cheboksary. It was part of a packed Volga-region tour, during which the team launched several new branches of its regional network in just a few days. In small and mid-sized cities, openings like these were especially important: supporters gained a place they could come to for concrete work—volunteering, canvassing, and taking part in the campaign.
