*The Witcher* is Zakhar’s favorite book, and its Polish author, Andrzej Sapkowski, is his favorite writer. Naturally, all of that sparked his interest in Poland. Zakhar even gave a school presentation about it. So when he found out that this year’s Nemtsov Forum would be held in Warsaw and that I would be speaking there, there was no way I wasn’t taking him with me. Especially since the school holidays had just begun. In Zakhar’s imagination, Warsaw is a wondrous and mysterious city, like the ones in the world of *The Witcher*. Now he walks around in amazement, wondering why no one has a silver dagger. This is my first time in Warsaw too. I’m doing just fine without silver daggers—I’ve discovered a local soup called żurek, and it’s magnificent.
