Ilyushin, the company that develops passenger and transport aircraft, has announced a tender to lease an Audi A8 for 8.5 million rubles. If this were a private company, there would be no questions. But Ilyushin is state-owned. It is headed by Alexei Rogozin, the son of Dmitry Rogozin, the former deputy prime minister and current head of Roscosmos (Russia’s state space corporation). Apparently, the luxury car—with massage seats and a retractable roof—is intended for him. We demand that this luxury purchase be canceled and that the younger Rogozin switch to something more patriotic.
