Victory. The European Court has just ruled that the house arrest under which I spent a year in 2014 was unlawful. Articles 5 (unlawful deprivation of liberty), 10 (freedom of expression), and 18 (political motive) of the European Convention on Human Rights were violated. I congratulate our legal team and all the decent people who supported us. I am confident that this ruling will have important consequences for those in Russia who are constantly subjected to such lawlessness.
