A hotel room costing 1.4 million rubles per night. Who could afford that? A billionaire? An Arab sheikh? A movie star? You may be surprised, but you paid for that room. Not for yourself, of course. The person staying in it was a government official, Russian cabinet minister Denis Manturov. The state procurement website showed us that this civil servant often travels abroad and, on all of his trips, stays in hotels like The Peninsula Shanghai, paying for them with public funds. After this information became public, Manturov offered a simple explanation: at the time, there were no cheaper rooms available. And that was it. No investigations, no resignations, no scandal in the press. As long as Putin and United Russia remain in power, officials will keep laughing at us, and we will keep paying one and a half million rubles for them to spend a single night in a hotel. Take part in “Smart Voting” to inflict maximum damage on United Russia in the upcoming September 8 elections and pay them back for this mockery: https://vote2019.appspot.com/
