The way Vladimir Putin was making promises this time—it was quite a sight. Better than all the previous times. ⠀ He has plenty of experience: 20 years of nonstop promises—and this time he was Promising with a capital “P.” He swore. He solemnly vowed. He touched something red for emphasis. He crossed himself. He gave his word. He did the pinky promise. He even wagged his finger at negligent officials. ⠀ And they keep recording, and recording. Recording and recording. ⠀ Those damned doctors and nurses. They’ve flooded the entire internet with video appeals, rudely and uncouthly declaring: all your promises are lies. We haven’t received a single kopeck in bonus pay, even though you, citizen President Putin, held three livestreams from your bunker on the subject. ⠀ How can they be so selfish? Instead of appreciating the real achievements of our president. Why, just last week it was announced that no fewer than two Russian citizens made the list of Britain’s richest subjects—Usmanov and Abramovich. Isn’t that nice? Isn’t that a reason to be proud of Russia? ⠀ They keep demanding their promised bonuses. If everyone gets paid, there won’t be enough left for little Alisher Usmanov’s yacht, little Alina Kabaeva’s plane, or little Seryozha Sobyanin’s paving tiles. ⠀ And then there’s that pesky medical workers’ union, the “Doctors’ Alliance” @alyansvrachey, which has launched a COVID-19 Map. They’ll be collecting data there on four problems: - shortages of protective equipment; - failure to pay the promised bonuses; - refusal to test medical workers themselves for coronavirus; - deaths of healthcare workers from COVID. ⠀ If each of you sends the link https://inspection.alyansvrachey.ru/ to a healthcare worker you know, it will become much harder to hide this information. ⠀ Help Vladimir Putin: don’t show doctors the link. And in return, he’ll surely promise you something again.
