Putin and the Kremlin have apparently decided to mock Khabarovsk and its residents in a particularly twisted way. ⠀ Just a minute ago came the news: President Putin has proposed LDPR deputy Mikhail Degtyaryov as governor of Khabarovsk Krai. ⠀ I almost choked on my tea. Seriously?! Misha Degtyaryov ran against me in the MOSCOW mayoral election and got 2.8%. ⠀ MOSCOW. MOSCOW. MOSCOW. ⠀ Why the hell are you forcing him on the people of Khabarovsk? Degtyaryov has only ever seen Khabarovsk on TV. ⠀ People there are taking to the streets precisely because Moscow snatched up a local man everyone knew and trusted and, without any evidence, hauled him off to prison. He is from Khabarovsk. ⠀ Why the hell would they want a Muscovite governor? ⠀ They have already turned all of Russia into an appendage and a plantation for wealthy Moscow oligarchs. They took the taxes. They took the resource revenues. And now they are even forbidding people from electing local officials from among their own residents.
