Whew! Wow. I spent the whole weekend agonizing and waiting for my lawyer, just to learn at least something about the election (they recently even cut the state news channel Russia-24 off on the TV in our barracks), so I knew next to nothing about what was happening. But still, I thought, at least I’d get the full picture all at once. After all, the results of electronic voting are supposed to be available instantly, and overnight they would count everything offline. But it turns out, ha-ha-ha, that the electronic voting results in Moscow — that’s millions of votes — still haven’t been published. “The robot is thinking for a long time.” In the 2019 election, this “robot” published the results instantly, but now it has suddenly become thoughtful. It’s obvious why. As I understand it, the data from the in-person polling stations show that in Moscow, Smart Voting candidates won in 12 out of 15 districts, and in St. Petersburg — in 7 out of 8. So the robot paused, lit a cigarette, and decided to hold off on publishing the results until the nimble little hands of United Russia operatives could falsify them into the exact opposite. That’s all — I don’t have time to write anything else, they’re taking my lawyer away again, cutting our meeting short. When I learn more, I’ll write in more detail. But for now, ❤️ to everyone who took part in Smart Voting. And ❤️❤️❤️ to the election observers — you are our heroes. You have hard work, and it isn’t over yet.
