Anti-corruption investigations are what infuriate Putin most of all. That is why Rosreestr—the state real estate registry—has been concealing the property holdings of top officials for years. Rosreestr encrypts their names and removes their lavish estates from the map. But we found a way to uncover the deleted records. That is how we identified several hundred secret land plots and restored the names of those being so carefully hidden from us.
