9 years in a maximum-security penal colony. My space flight is dragging on a bit — the ship has gotten caught in a time loop. It occurred to me that in this saga, I’m like that guy from *Interstellar*. Remember how the main characters arrive at the station after leaving a planet where time moves several times faster? And they’re met by a bearded guy in a robe: “I’ve been waiting for you for 23 years, 4 months, 8 days.” But I immediately pushed that thought away. First, I have neither a beard nor a robe. And second: it’s all nonsense. The numbers don’t matter. It’s just a sign above the bunk, that’s all. And neither I nor my comrades are going to simply “wait.” As I said in my “final statement,” we are not just continuing the work of the Anti-Corruption Foundation — we are taking it to a new level. The Foundation will become a global international organization. And we really need you in it. Join us (link in bio). The monetary portion of the Sakharov Prize awarded to me by the European Parliament will become the first contribution to this fund. The citizens of the EU, through their representatives, gave me this prize for fighting corruption. I am grateful, and I am directing their money toward continuing that fight. By the way, note that they were jamming my “final statement” by interrupting the broadcast. Of course words have power. Putin is afraid of the truth — I’ve always said that. Fighting censorship and bringing the truth to the people of Russia remain our priority. The Kremlin is crushing media outlets, and in response we are creating new ones. On March 5, I announced “Popular Politics” @politica_media — it now has nearly a million subscribers. Join us — together we will build Russia’s best media outlet (that link is also in the bio). I am very grateful to everyone for the support. And, guys, I want to say this: the best support for me and for other political prisoners is not sympathy and warm words, but action. Any activity against Putin’s lying, thieving regime. Any resistance to these war criminals. In 2013, when I heard my first sentence, I wrote this, and I’ll repeat it now: don’t sit idle. This toad sitting on the oil pipeline won’t topple itself. Hugs to everyone — and love you all! ❤️
