A post for people like me. For those whose biggest question in life is: what good should I read next? First of all, I have a great book for you — Kira Yarmysh’s new book, *Harassment* @kira_yarmysh. I was its first reader. Kira sent it to me here in prison by mail, in installments. It really is an excellent, gripping book, and I kept writing to Kira: come on, send the next part already — I want to know what happens next. And secondly, I have a writer for you. Well, I recognized that in Kira right away, when she gave me the first chapter of her first book. But now there’s no doubt about it. I’m incredibly happy about this, because I’m the one who persuaded Kira to write. You can’t “accidentally” write two excellent books in a row. You can’t “accidentally” get published in 10 countries in 10 languages. So officially: Kira Yarmysh is a remarkable Russian writer of the 2020s. *Harassment* is also headed for a great screen adaptation, I’m sure of it.
