Can a prisoner have a show on YouTube? Well, frankly, it’s not exactly easy. But in a way, I’m almost obliged to do it. Putin put me in prison so that I would stay silent, not be heard, not engage in any political activity, and quietly sew away at a sewing machine. Just be an ordinary convict. I’m not going to be an ordinary convict. I’m going to do protest sewing on my machine 😉 So here’s what I came up with. Because of being cut off from everyday life and kept in isolation, I’m constantly asking stupid and naive questions. I’m trying to understand better how life in the country works now. To be honest, sometimes people even answer me like this: “You’re really getting on everyone’s nerves with these stupid questions of yours.” But I’m curious anyway, so now I’m going to pester all of you. Not in letters, but here and on YouTube. I’ll ask my naive and stupid question. The guys from our team, @teamnavalny, will answer it publicly in a video. And I hope you’ll watch it and say in the comments whether they got it right and what you yourselves think about it. My first question is still the same one — about prices. It really worries me a lot. Prices in the prison commissary have risen so much that even my murderers clutch their hearts. And as you can imagine, they’re not exactly a very sensitive bunch. And then later, when I watch TV, they say there (I really heard it myself) that prices in Russia have not only stopped rising, but are actually falling. I honestly don’t know what to think, so I asked @rshaveddinov to explain it all to me with numbers and evidence. Please take a look. And leave some feedback too — is this interesting, and should I keep tormenting everyone with my naive questions?
