I’m a genius of the criminal underworld. Professor Moriarty is nervously smoking on the sidelines. You all thought I’d spent the last two years in isolation, in prison, when it turns out I’ve actually been actively committing crimes. Good thing the Investigative Committee (Russia’s main federal investigative authority) stayed vigilant and didn’t miss a thing. I have received official notice that a new criminal case has been opened against me on the grounds that, while in prison, I: — promoted terrorism and called for it — publicly called for extremism — financed extremist activity — rehabilitated Nazism. Impressive, right? Few criminals accomplish as much while free as I apparently have from behind bars. The only thing that spoils my self-satisfaction is that these achievements are not mine alone, but also those of my accomplices: Volkov, Zhdanov, and Chanysheva. I’m the leader of the criminal group, and they carry out my orders. For example, as I understand it from the ruling, my guilt in “promoting Nazism” lies in the fact that Volkov said on air on *Popular Politics* that “Colonel Stauffenberg was right to try to assassinate Hitler — he should have been killed.” From the point of view of the Russian Investigative Committee and Putin, Hitler was the legitimate government, and blowing it up is extremism. Everything else is in the same vein. Every *Popular Politics* broadcast is terrorism and extremism under my direction. My lawyers estimate that, given the prison terms attached to these charges, the combined sentence here comes to about 30 years. Well, what can I say? Subscribe to *Popular Politics* @politica_media 😉
