Yesterday, a meeting of the Public Council of Moscow’s Central Administrative District (TsAO) took place, and I was the one who initiated it. The topic was: "Engaging with the Public During the Implementation of Urban Development Policy. Resolving Construction-Related Conflicts". To my great surprise, almost all of the proposals I put forward were approved — from public opinion surveys to public hearings and the creation of a dedicated website. I have to admit that TsAO Prefect Baidakov is quite open to dialogue, and in that he differs dramatically from the other nine prefects. So if none of this gets bogged down at the implementation level, we will soon radically change the way we work with TsAO residents on everything related to construction. By the way, sitting next to me at the meeting was Dr. Roshal (Leonid Roshal, a well-known Russian pediatrician and public figure). He turned out to be a very seasoned meeting-goer. Exactly five minutes after it began, he fell asleep, and toward the end he woke up and started joking and asking pointed questions. And after the meeting, (wow) ANGELINA VOVK came up to me and praised my presentation! As it turned out, she is a deputy in one of Moscow’s municipal councils.
