1. There are no bears. 2. It’s a good city, but unbelievably dirty. It feels like there are no street cleaners at all, and never have been. It’s just indecently filthy. 3. Absolutely every local I managed to talk to gave the same answer when asked about Mayor Pimashkov: a drunk obsessed with fountains. 4. There really are a lot of fountains. 5. On the plane they were handing out a magazine saying that Mayor Pimashkov is the best mayor in Russia. 6. The magazine is published by Pimashkov’s wife, Lyudmila. 7. In Pimashkov’s wife’s magazine, besides articles about Pimashkov himself, there’s also an interview with Pimashkov’s daughter (granddaughter). She talks about business etiquette. 8. The mountains are insanely beautiful. 9. We Moscow suckers, of course, got scammed by a local taxi driver. He took the money up front, dropped us off in those insanely beautiful mountains, and drove away. 10. We spent forty minutes trying to flag down a car on the winding mountain road. 11. The debate went pretty well, in my opinion. At first everyone sat quietly, but then they got into it. The questions were interesting. The only complaint was that I wanted to wrap it up after an hour and twenty minutes. I had to extend it. 12. I seriously screwed up and forgot to give the jury members a final word so they could explain their votes. 13. I’m now completely convinced that we need to do a project with regional "DaDebates." 14. In terms of cafés/bars/restaurants per capita, Krasnoyarsk clearly outstrips even Moscow. And the food is good everywhere. 15. There’s some anomalous number of young people on the streets. It’s hard to understand where so many of them came from. Sure, there are universities, but still, there are a lot of young people. It really stands out. I’ll post the photos and videos later.
