I never thought some TV show could shock me so much that I’d sit there for another five minutes with my mouth hanging open. But yesterday NTV premiered a program called "Suk@love." I generally consider myself a pretty worldly person, and not the least bit prudish. BUT THIS, EXCUSE ME, IS SOME NEXT-LEVEL FUCKING INSANITY. This is IMPOSSIBLE to air on a nationwide federal channel. On cable, maybe—but on a terrestrial broadcast channel, no. The show is hosted by some huge fag in a skirt, stockings, and a wig. He giggles and squeals every other second. The segments: mocking a half-crazy disabled man who’s in love with Gazmanov; whether some Lithuanian guy slept with Dima Bilan; a toothless homeless man had gender reassignment surgery, and they show him in a gynecological chair, then kissing some other toothless homeless man (at that point I nearly threw up and turned it off). If you think this was just another edgy blockbuster in the style of the program "Maximum," no. Absolutely not. This was trash on a level Russian television has never seen before. Not even in the 1990s. The newspaper "Zhizn" looks like a bastion of morality compared to this. At least they had interesting gossip presented professionally. This, on the other hand, was just hideous, revolting trash. And even the word "trash" doesn’t fit. That word at least implies something interesting. Since I know my LiveJournal is read by "responsible officials," I can’t help asking: **Comrades Surkov, Chesnakov, and Kulistikov, HAVE YOU COMPLETELY LOST YOUR MINDS OVER THERE? **Is this what you call objective and professional television? And after this you’re still drawing up stop-lists and banning programs? If this is the style you’re going for, then let me offer you another great idea absolutely free of charge: round up some homeless people, pay them 300 rubles (about $12 at the time), and have them pull scraps out of garbage bins and eat them on camera (close-up here). Then they can take off their underwear, fight and scratch each other, while your fag host comments with delighted squeals. It’ll get ratings. And it will definitely be far more interesting than a "Dissenters’ March" (an opposition protest rally). I’m sure the program "Sukalove" fully reflects the entire gang of "TV overseers" and their view of the multinational people of the Russian Federation. And of their spiritual and moral needs. Glory to the Kremlin! And yes, of course, after watching this show it will be especially interesting to read the lofty articles by NTV host Vladimir Solovyov about the decline of morality, the collapse of ethics, and universal social ostracism.
