As I understand it, “hydraulic testing” means they sharply increase the pressure in the pipes, and if something bursts somewhere, that means the pipe there was bad. The hydraulic testing was a success. There’s just one thing I don’t understand: how exactly am I supposed to “stay alert” in this situation? Put on a budenovka (a pointed Red Army hat), grab a rifle, and spend three days straight vigilantly watching the riser pipes? And I’m not allowed to go anywhere? And in general, I’m curious: say I go off to my dacha (country house), and as a result of the hydraulic testing a pipe bursts in my riser (this has happened before), and everyone gets flooded. From the 8th floor down to the 1st. My neighbors don’t have my phone number. And even if they do, I won’t get back for many, many hours. What do they do in cases like that? Break down the door? Or does the whole building sit there without water waiting for me to come back? Does anyone know?
