They’ve finally started putting up public service ads that actually make sense. I drove past one today and snapped a photo. Instead of all that nonsense about the Olympics and "let’s learn the anthem of Moscow." If we assume public service advertising has any meaning or impact at all, it should be something like this. And even harsher. It’s amazing how many people get drunk and then get behind the wheel. A friend of mine, a former school classmate, had four (!) DUI marks in his temporary driver’s permit — n/s (intoxicated state). Back then he worked for the FSB (Russia’s security service), so they didn’t revoke his license, but when he got completely wasted, the traffic cops would still mark him down as n/s despite his official ID.
