Today we went all the way out to the middle of nowhere to help organize a residents’ rally. In Zhulebino. They’re building a four-story (!) restaurant in the courtyard area of an apartment building. A classic case—no permit at all. The First Deputy Head of the district administration who showed up fled in disgrace 10 minutes after the rally began. The residents of Zhulebino, whom I had asked to come up with something a bit lively for the TV cameras, put on an exhibition of children’s drawings.
