On Thursday, December 6, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., the Central House of Journalists (8a Nikitsky Boulevard, Arbatskaya metro station, Moscow) will host a roundtable discussion: "The Death of the Russian Opposition and the Possibilities for Its Revival. A New Opposition Discourse." The event is organized by the NAROD movement. The roundtable will focus on analyzing the results of the State Duma elections and searching for a new strategy for the Russian opposition. The following issues will be discussed at the roundtable: — The state of the Russian opposition after the 2007 Duma "elections." The collapse of traditional opposition ideologies and methods. — The systemic opposition as part of the Kremlin's political machine. — A new opposition discourse. The possible creation of a fundamentally new opposition, ready and able to engage in a real struggle for power. — The ideology and practice of non-systemic opposition struggle. — Is a single presidential candidate for the Russian Federation possible from the entire opposition spectrum—left-wing, liberal, and nationalist? — The growing decay of the Putin regime as a factor in the formation of a new opposition.
