There’s a live broadcast from the Central Election Commission (CEC) meeting. They’re summing up the election results. It’s impossible to watch. It feels like some kind of fever dream: Before the results are announced, representatives of YABLOKO, the Union of Right Forces (SPS), and the Communist Party (KPRF) demand that their complaints be reviewed. By law, those complaints must be considered before the final results are certified. Then comes the vote: whether to review the complaints or not. Only one person votes FOR reviewing the complaints — the commission member from the KPRF. The commission member from YABLOKO — Dubrovina — ABSTAINS. Everyone else votes AGAINST (SPS does not have a CEC member with full voting rights). So YABLOKO officially declares that the election was rigged. It looks for evidence. It files complaints. AND THEN IT DOESN’T VOTE TO HAVE THOSE COMPLAINTS REVIEWED. Unbelievable. I’m just speechless. And then people get upset that I, as a YABLOKO member, am constantly going after YABLOKO. Well, who else am I supposed to go after? It’s disgusting when your party is basically prostituting itself live on air. If she couldn’t vote "FOR," she could at least have pretended to be sick and skipped the meeting. Everyone would have understood, but at least some shred of respect could have been preserved. I honestly don’t know what to do with all this..
