I wanted to post some Vienna photos to LiveJournal, but I left the cable for connecting to the computer at home. But no matter—we live in the age of new technology: you can just take the memory card out of the camera and stick it into the laptop! What a brilliant idea! So that’s exactly what I did. Now the camera card is stuck in the laptop slot and won’t budge either way. As the saying goes, “his grenades are of the wrong system” (a Russian idiom meaning the thing is the wrong type altogether). I tried prying the card out with a pen—only managed to shove it in deeper. This evening I’ll grab two toothpicks at the restaurant and try to use them like tweezers. I consider this technological fascism.
