Dear Alexei Anatolyevich Navalny, We would like to inform you that starting tomorrow, February 1, 2008, Civitas.ru will no longer serve as the website of the All-Russian Civic Congress. The database, including your profile, has been transferred to trusted representatives of G.K. Kasparov. At the same time, we would like to let you know that Civitas.ru will continue to maintain its presence on the Internet as one of the resources of civil society. We expect that in the near future L.M. Alexeyeva and G.A. Satarov, who previously announced that they were stepping down as co-chairs of the All-Russian Civic Congress, will make public information about their plans to create a new structure. If this is of no interest to you, or if you no longer wish to cooperate with Civitas.ru in any form, please send a message requesting that your address be removed from our mailing list, and this will be done immediately, though with regret :) If no such request is received, the Civitas.ru Administration will regard this as your consent to continue receiving messages from admin@civitas.ru until further notice. If you would like to reply, please send your responses to admin@civitas.ru. Sincerely, Administration of the All-Russian Civic Congress website The battle of Alien vs. Predator (Godzilla vs. Chupacabra) goes on. Alexeyeva and Satarov stepped down as co-chairs of the All-Russian Civic Congress, but for some reason took the website with them. And now they’re dividing up the database by the principle of “I get the sofa, you get the chest of drawers.” By the way, when the All-Russian Civic Congress was created, the website with the mailing-list database was presented as the main achievement of CIVIL SOCIETY. It was even called a “network of networks” (hahaha). And now that network of networks has been swiped. It would be good to have all these people shot. And then people wonder why the level of trust in human rights activists and liberals in general is so low.
