its further existence had lost all meaning: ***At the same time, during the press conference, Lev Ponomaryov, head of the movement "For Human Rights," said that he opposed the participation of the nationalist movement "Narod" ("People") in the alternative parliament. ******"Those who organize Russian Marches and say that 'Russia is for Russians' cannot take part. ***http://www.nr2.ru/moskow/169561.html How cruel the world is! And how cruel Lev Ponomaryov is! Can it really be that we won't be allowed to take part in filming yet another episode of the soap opera "united opposition," made especially for CNN? They won't give us tea in a plastic cup. We won't get to listen to the uniting oppositionists viciously tearing into each other in the smoking room. We won't hear speeches by "interesting people." We won't sign an appeal or an open letter. It's unbearable. I don't understand how to live with this. What will especially upset me is that I won't see one of my favorite oppositionists. He goes to every meeting of the Supreme Command_Other_Russia_Whatever_It_Is. He has a reputation as a very uncompromising fighter against the regime. I remember him from one particular gathering, when he took the seat next to me. Then he pulled out of the pocket of his yellow jacket, by the handful, something very much resembling an omelet and started eating it, pausing periodically to applaud frantically every time the word "dismantling" was uttered from the podium. Ever since then, I have followed this citizen's struggle closely and, above all, made sure not to end up sitting next to him again—I have no desire to scrub omelet stains out once more. On the day of the National Assembly, I will be deeply distressed, and before my eyes there will be only one thing: cries of "Dismantling!", applause, and flying droplets of omelet. Really, though, Lev Ponomaryov reminds me of that LiveJournal user who banned five thousand people from his journal, most of whom didn't even know he existed.
