Citizen Minority ShareholderA minority shareholder in Rosneft and Transneft has gone to court to find out why one company sells oil to Gunvor while the other sends billions of rubles to charity. The Moscow Arbitration Court registered “citizen-entrepreneur” Alexei Navalny’s lawsuit against Rosneft on May 30, and his lawsuit against Transneft president Nikolai Tokarev back on the 5th. Read more Rosneft’s response was actually pretty funny. The scheme, they say, is transparent: an offer goes out to everyone, and then they choose whoever offers the highest premium. And as for the list of traders, the media published it, including Kommersant and Vedomosti. The word Gunvor is not mentioned anywhere in the response. Two weeks before the general shareholders’ meeting, it’s really not a good idea to so brazenly tell a shareholder to go to hell, even a minority one. Not very prudent. As e**_dikiy **says in such cases, "they only set up the handler".
