On Sunday, June 8, 2008, the conference **"The New Political Nationalism"** will be held in Moscow. Conference organizers: ·        the Great Russia political party, ·        the Movement Against Illegal Immigration (DPNI), ·        the National Russian Liberation Movement "NAROD," ·        the Russian Social Movement (ROD). The conference will address the following key issues: - Political nationalism amid growing nationalist sentiment in Russian society - Nationalist strategy and tactics in the struggle for power in Russia - Civic nationalism and the ideology of national democracy - Nationalists' attitude toward the current government and the conditions under which nationalist forces would support the new president, Dmitry Medvedev - Drawing a line between the nationalist opposition and marginal groups, as well as pro-Kremlin pseudo-nationalists - The possibility and prospects for cooperation between nationalists and the liberal opposition - The prospects for an alliance between nationalist forces and the left (socialists) During the conference, the organizers plan to announce a joint political declaration and sign an Agreement on the Coordination of Political Actions among nationalist organizations. Guests taking part in the conference will include representatives of Russia's liberal and socialist forces.
