Yandex News gave me a minute of joy. I highly recommend reading this and sharing it. This is exactly the good stuff. As Kostya krylov would say, "the juiciest part." Movla Osmaev, Candidate of Economic Sciences (roughly equivalent to a PhD in economics), Honorary Citizen of the Chechen Republic. For the past seven years, he headed the Ministry of Culture of the Chechen Republic. He currently heads the Chechen Republic branch of the Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resource Usage.
Xenophobia and nationalism have today become a real threat to Russian statehood. Radical nationalism, which everyone had so carefully kept quiet about all this time, has turned from a harmless stray dog fed out of pity into a terrifying fire-breathing dragon. What is more, it can no longer satisfy itself with scraps; its appetite has grown, and it has set its sights on power. A telling example was the conference held in Moscow on June 8 on the theme "New Political Nationalism," whose participants—the Movement Against Illegal Immigration (A. Belov), the "Narod" movement (A. Navalny), the Russian Public Movement (K. Krylov), and the Great Russia party (A. Saveliev)—signed a pact on cooperation. ... This entire political farce demonstrated the true aims of the nationalists, which are far removed from the pressing problems of the Russian people. In reality, they seek to weaken Russia, destroy its unity, and ultimately break up the country. By sowing turmoil and chaos, they hope for personal enrichment, because, as is well known, it is easier to fish in muddy waters. In essence, they are looters who crave war. ... The effectiveness of these educational tools can be seen in the example of Chechen youth, who have always been distinguished by their tolerance. (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) *... not a single true Muslim would allow himself an insulting or even dismissive remark about any people or nation. Islamic moral teaching is based on the rejection and inadmissibility of racism, chauvinism, and any manifestations of nationalism. According to Islam, such phenomena are the result of a lack of spirituality, for the Prophet Muhammad said: "An Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab except in piety." ... *and the final sentence of the article is simply brilliant: ***Chechens did not join Russia voluntarily—and they will not leave it voluntarily either! ***Movla Osmaev — Candidate of Economic Sciences, Honorary Citizen of the Chechen Republic. ***source Those interested may also familiarize themselves with citizen Osmaev's opus titled "Chechens Are Tolerant, Even in the Most Difficult Life Situations": *Many media outlets, before the start of the first military campaign, repeated day and night that Chechens, supposedly, knew only how to rob, kidnap, and kill, but not how to create. In my view, it was precisely for this purpose that in 1993–1994 a broad campaign was organized involving endless bus hijackings with hostages in the area of Mineralnye Vody and Pyatigorsk, followed by helicopter flights to Chechnya. For the same purpose, I believe, the so-called "Chechen avizo" was invented. It is interesting who exactly organized the campaign of bus hijackings and the "Chechen avizo." Presumably Russian nationalist looters thirsting for war. After reading Mr. Osmaev's articles, which apparently reflect the mainstream official position of the Chechen Republic's leadership on Russian nationalism and interethnic relations, I recommend recalling just a couple of figures: Before the war, Grozny had a population of 397,000, and according to the 1989 All-Union census, ethnic Russians alone numbered 210,000. Where are those Russians now? How many are in Grozny? None. They left. They could not withstand the pressure of the tolerance so characteristic of the Chechen people. And not only Russians. According to the same census, the Chechen-Ingush ASSR was home to 14,824 Armenians, 14,824 Tatars, and 12,637 Nogais. Where are those Armenians, Tatars, and Nogais now? Those who survived left as well, also fleeing that tolerance. Perhaps the Chechen minister of culture does not know these figures? Most likely he does not, otherwise he would have used them in his study of Chechen tolerance, as the scientific method requires. After all, he is a Candidate of Sciences.
