I can just picture one of those romantically pro-Western intellectuals, or one of those not-unintelligent young politicians whom political fate has cast into the camp of unconditional admirers of Western democracy—for example, Alexei Navalny—pointing his finger at me and proclaiming: “Don’t read him, he’s from the bloody KGB” (the Soviet/Russian security services). http://www.vz.ru/columns/2006/7/25/42774.html It is not entirely clear why Max Grigoryev, a representative of the “bloody KGB,” chose to invoke my name in vain. I still consider myself a representative of the conservative wing of the “democratic movement,” and I agree with some of the article’s theses. Apparently, our exchanges in the Youth Public Chamber are still fresh in his memory.
