I was summoned today to the OBEP (the Russian police department for combating economic crimes) to give a statement regarding the complaint against Transneft. While waiting for my pass, I looked over the contents of a display board titled "Beware: Terrorism!" There were 37 people on the board in total, with photographs and their ethnicity listed. Of them: Avars - 9 Dargins - 3 Kumyks - 2 Lezgins - 1 Russians - 1 Tatars - 1 Chechens - 20 For some reason, Shamil Basayev was listed among the wanted Chechens. Either they haven't changed those sheets on the board in years, or the Ministry of Internal Affairs itself doesn't believe that the minced remains shown on TV were really Basayev's.
