Friends, anyone who knows anything about the American city of Philadelphia—I need some advice. Tomorrow, the day after, and the day after that, I’ll be in that very city. I’m giving a talk on “shareholder rights” at a conference organized by some curious Americans. I’ll tell them everything I think about the rule of law as it applies to Gazprom and Transneft/Rosneft, and at the same time do a little networking with the global elite. So, here’s what I know about Philadelphia: 1) it’s called the “City of Brotherly Love,” and 2) there’s that dreary, mournful Bruce Springsteen song, “Streets of Philadelphia,” which for some reason everybody loves. Questions for those with more extensive knowledge: What’s interesting there? What should I see? Where should I eat? What should someone do with one free day in Philadelphia, staying downtown and not especially fond of museums? Please don’t suggest “go in search of brotherly love.” Many thanks in advance.
