Spent half the day at the Tverskoy District Court in Moscow. I was waiting for the preliminary hearing in the case against the crooks from the Russian Federal Property Fund. What a complete hell. You wait for hours just to spend three minutes getting a summons. The line at the clerk’s office is unbelievable. People were practically ready to start fighting. And on top of that, whenever the guards escort detainees through, everyone gets shoved out of the corridor onto a tiny patch of space, where people stew in the stifling heat while yet another Georgian man with a plastic bag is led through. Where does all the money generously poured into improving the courts’ material and technical resources actually go?
