Yesterday at 5:00 p.m. I was asleep at the dacha (country house). At 5:10 p.m. I woke up and realized I had to go to Kirov. I left my car behind and took a taxi to Vnukovo. I boarded a plane at 8:30 p.m. and arrived at 11:00 p.m. In the morning I had to get back to Moscow. But there are no weekend flights from Kirov. So at 12:00 p.m. I got in the car and drove to Kazan. Via Yoshkar-Ola. At 6:30 p.m. I arrived at Kazan airport, bought a ticket, and at 7:50 p.m. boarded a plane to Moscow. At 9:15 p.m. I landed in Moscow. And now I'm home. Tomorrow early in the morning a taxi will come pick me up and take me to the airport. At 12:15 p.m. I hope to be in Thessaloniki, where my family has already been waiting for me for two weeks. Travel notes: 1. The stretch of road from Sanchursk to the Mari El border is absolute HELL. I couldn't imagine a road connecting the capitals of federal subjects (regions of Russia) could be in such a state. 2. Yoshkar-Ola is tiiiny and sooo quiet. 3. Kazan is beautiful. When I first drove in, I started texting everyone, "Your famous Kazan is a complete dump," but once I got to the center I realized I'd been way too harsh. 4. When I drive from Domodedovo toward the city, I feel happiness and peace.
