*The European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg has suggested that Valery Musin, the judge representing Russia and taking part in the consideration of the Yukos case against the Russian government, recuse himself. In Strasbourg, they believe that Mr. Musin’s election to Gazprom’s board of directors could create a conflict of interest in the Yukos case. *source

I’d prefer for the great legal scholar Musin to be kicked out of both the ECHR and Gazprom. What a fine “independent director.” He was conspicuously absent from that lawless shareholders’ meeting. Later, I also somehow didn’t see any outraged comments from this “independent” figure about the fact that half of the shareholders who came to the general meeting were not allowed into the assembly hall. He took his seat and kept quiet. By the way, I wouldn’t rule out Musin leaving GP (Gazprom) in order to remain a judge in the Yukos case. His rigging on that front is far more useful to our authorities than his rubber-stamp approval on Gazprom’s board of directors. Plenty of others can play the yes-man just as well.
