Since 2005, various divisions of the Moscow Main Internal Affairs Directorate and Russia’s Interior Ministry have been investigating a criminal case opened over the alleged embezzlement of funds from Mezhregiongaz, a wholly owned subsidiary of Gazprom. It’s actually very rational and effective: fight not corruption, but reports about corruption. It’s cheaper, too, and the results are immediate. You could also just stick your head in the sand.
