I signed up for Facebook. I’m not entirely sure why, but I was told I’d find millions of outraged minority shareholders there. I approached the site warily. I had assumed Facebook and VKontakte were basically the same as LiveInternet—an infernal number of smiley faces, everything pink, and discussions about the girl band Ranetki (a popular Russian pop-rock group). So far, there’s no sign of Ranetki. The shareholders, for that matter, are nowhere to be seen either.
