At last, Russia is getting a screen adaptation of one of my favorite books. Tomorrow, Moscow’s Pioner cinema will screen Bright Young Things — the directorial debut of English comedian and writer Stephen Fry, which took a little longer than expected to make its way to Russian theaters. In 2003, Fry adapted Evelyn Waugh’s novel Vile Bodies.* *While I’m at it, a shout-out to yellow_reporter, who once lent me a thick book in a shabby green hardcover that had been lying on his desk for half a year. I remember that every time my eyes landed on it, I’d think: “Waugh”... strange author’s name..... probably Chinese... should borrow it and read it... I’m not in Moscow right now, so unfortunately I won’t get to see it. Trailer:
