I came across an amusing demotivator in my friends feed, supposedly meant to debunk the myth that there was nothing to eat in the USSR. A textbook case of the evidence disproving the very point it is supposed to prove. What do we see on the shelves of this "ordinary village grocery store"? - apples (or oranges); - six kinds of canned goods; - something resembling condensed milk or packets of dry kissel (a fruit-based dessert drink mix); - candies in little bowls; - waffles or cookies or chocolate in those classic DNA-like stacks. And yet there really is nothing to eat.
