Our unstoppable mass-complaint machine has forced the Prosecutor’s Office of the Russian Federation to resort to petty lies. They apparently couldn’t find any other way to get us off their backs.

We filed complaints about VTB. The Prosecutor’s Office did not respond. We complained to the Presidential Administration (the executive office supporting the President of Russia) that the Prosecutor’s Office was not responding to us. The Administration demanded an inquiry and a reply. Now the Prosecutor’s Office is sending us letters saying that it never received the submissions. Several dozen people have already received replies like this: *"In connection with your appeal to the Administration of the President of the Russian Federation..... Your submission to the official website of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation on the Internet at: thhp://www.genproc.gov.ru/ipriem/corrupt was not received. At the same time, I inform you that .... you may send your written proposals..... to the following address:....". It all reminds me of an episode when I once lied to a teacher at school, saying I had done my homework but couldn’t bring it in because “my cat ate my notebook.” I remember being very offended that she didn’t believe me. Well, we don’t believe them either. If you look at the instructions on the procedure for reviewing citizens’ appeals by the prosecutor’s offices, you’ll see that this petty lie — “we didn’t receive the complaints” — is not just a petty lie, but a serious violation. And given that some of our submissions can and should be treated as a “crime report,” that is grounds for a very serious investigation. If the online reception office exists, it should work. If they accept only written complaints, then they should say so openly — and at the same time announce the death of the “Electronic Russia” and “Electronic Government” projects. Give us a couple of days and we will prepare: A request to the Prosecutor General’s Office demanding a detailed explanation of the mechanism by which complaints and submissions are received and registered through the online reception office, including a description of the measures intended to prevent submissions from being lost. A complaint demanding an inquiry into the mass loss of citizens’ submissions. We’re going to go after these people in those strange blue uniforms. The office keeps churning out paperwork.
