Unsportsmanlike Conduct Russian Railways (RZD) may set a record for spending on Olympic construction projects. Preparatory work alone on the Adler–Krasnaya Polyana route costs nearly $2 billion. And the contract for this work was awarded without a tender to two longtime partners of the monopoly: SK Most and Transyuzhstroi. RZD disclosed the details of its Olympic contracts yesterday in its IFRS report (see inset). The project concerns a 48 km combined road and railway line from Adler to Krasnaya Polyana.
