There has just been a serious crash on Tverskaya Street in Moscow. An armored Mercedes, plate a505mr97, with a flashing beacon installed but switched off, accompanied by a security SUV, sped through a red light after also crossing a double solid line. It then collided with a BMW that was calmly proceeding through a green light in its own lane. Men armed with automatic weapons immediately jumped out of the Mercedes escort vehicle, while the driver of the armored car at once began removing the license plate from his vehicle, and then unscrewed the beacon as well. The VIP was transferred into the security SUV and driven away, leaving one armed guard at the scene and a frightened young woman inside the Mercedes. After that, a car with an FSO (Federal Protective Service) plate, e075kh97, arrived, and the beacon, the plates, and the contents of the Mercedes glove compartment were transferred into it. A good reason for journalists to dig into this case. Who was riding in the car? Whose car was it? What official necessity was there for driving a girl around at night? Why was it being driven in that manner? Why were the plates removed and the beacon taken off? Who were these armed men in the city center, on Pushkin Square, lunging at civilians with cameras? And so on. Do we still have any journalists left who are capable of asking questions and getting answers?
